Subnautica 2 is an underwater survival adventure set on an all-new alien ocean world. Players are Pioneers stranded after the CICADA colony ship crashes on Proteus. It features solo play, online co-op for up to 4 players, base building, vehicles, and the DNA Biomod system. Released May 14, 2026.

Titanium Ingots cannot be made in the Fabricator. Build a Processor base module first — scan the broken Processor at the Old Habitat (~350m north of the Lifepod) to unlock the blueprint, then build it with 2× Titanium + 1× Mild Acid + 1× Copper Wire. Scan 3 Repair Tool fragments to unlock the blueprint. The easiest fragment is inside Chap's Base (~220m SE of Lifepod) — a stone pillar with a glowing cave entrance. Then craft the Repair Tool at a Fully Functional Base Fabricator using 1× Titanium Ingot + 1× Wiring Kit + 1× Basic Battery + 1× Sulfur. Yes — Subnautica 2 supports online co-op with up to 3 friends (4 players total). You can start a multiplayer world or convert a solo save. Cross-platform and co-op improvements are on the roadmap.

Not at launch. Subnautica 2 is currently available on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) and Xbox Series X|S. A PS5 release has not been announced.

The biggest additions are official co-op multiplayer for up to 4 players, a brand-new alien world, the DNA Biomod system (scan creatures to gain biological abilities), new tools, vehicles, and a multi-year roadmap adding biomes, creatures, and story chapters.
