Overview
A rare crystalline resource — arguably the rarest material in the early game. Conduit Crystals grow on rock walls and cliff faces in the region east of the Alien Ruins, often hidden in shadowed areas behind rock structures. Three are required to craft the Bioscanner, which unlocks all non-default Biomods and opens the full DNA Modification progression track.
Where to Find Conduit Crystal
Alien Ruins Region (East)
Best Spot~1,800m east of Lifepod
Primary farming zone. Found on rock walls and cliff faces, often partially hidden behind rocky outcrops. Each deposit typically yields only 1 unit. Plan a dedicated run — bring the Tadpole.
Karakorum Power Plant
Additional spawns below the Karakorum Power Plant wreck — which is also where the Bioscanner blueprint is found. Efficient to farm crystals while scanning for the Bioscanner blueprint in the same trip.
Angel Comb Area
~205m NW of Lifepod
A small number of Conduit Crystals can be found near the Angel Comb. Easier to access but very limited quantity — not enough for a full Bioscanner run.

⚠ Important Notes
- →The Bioscanner requires a Modification Station (blueprint: scan one in an abandoned base ~1,300m east of Lifepod) and Enamelled Glass (Creature Enamel + Glass).
- →The trip to the Alien Ruins region (~1,800m east) requires the Tadpole submersible and a Repair Tool to access the Cicada Wreck for the Bioscanner blueprint.
- →Conduit Crystals are a one-time bottleneck: once you have the Bioscanner, you stop needing large quantities.
Tips
- →Scan cliff faces and the undersides of rock overhangs — Conduit Crystals spawn in shadowed areas that are easy to miss.
- →Collect at least 6 on your first visit: 3 for the Bioscanner, 2 for the Feedback Resonator, 1 spare.
- →Mark your return path before diving deep into the Alien Ruins region — the area is complex and disorienting.
- →The Karakorum Power Plant run covers both Conduit Crystal farming and the Bioscanner blueprint scan in one trip.
