Subnautica 2 Early Access Launches May 14, 2026

Unknown Worlds Entertainment has officially confirmed that Subnautica 2 will enter Early Access on May 14, 2026, at 08:00 PDT / 15:00 UTC.

The game will be available at $29.99 across:

• PC: Steam and Epic Games Store
• Xbox: Xbox Series X|S via Xbox Game Preview
• Game Pass: Included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass from day one

What to Expect at Launch

Early Access launch will include the core survival loop: base building, creature scanning, and exploration across the initial set of biomes including the Kelp Forest, Sparse Plains, Graveyard, and Thermal Spires.

Co-op: A Series First

Subnautica 2 introduces multiplayer for the first time in the series, supporting up to 4 players in co-op with drop-in/drop-out functionality. A proximity-based inventory sharing system lets nearby players access shared resources while crafting.

Early Access Roadmap

The studio expects Early Access to last 2-3 years, with regular updates adding new biomes, creatures, narrative chapters, and mechanics throughout 2026 and 2027.
