Overview
A large alien organism found ~205m northwest of the Lifepod, surrounded by a toxic Bloom Biofilm. When cured using the Sonic Resonator to destroy the surrounding Bloom, interacting with the Angel Comb grants the Heat Tolerance Adaptation — which allows the Pioneer to survive in high-temperature volcanic zones and farm Sulfur. The Angel Comb is a critical story and progression milestone.

- →Craft the Sonic Resonator (2× Titanium Ingot + 1× Basic Battery + 2× Lead + 1× Wiring Kit at Fabricator)
- →The Sonic Resonator is itself unlocked by scanning a fragment — check the Old Habitat or northeast wreck
Where to Find Angel Comb
Northwest of Lifepod
Best Spot~205m northwest of Lifepod
The Angel Comb is surrounded by a Bloom Biofilm (the same organism that infected Jubilee colonists). Use the Sonic Resonator to destroy the Bloom around the comb. Once cured, interact with the Angel Comb to receive the Heat Tolerance Adaptation.

⚠ Important Notes
- →The Angel Comb is directly related to the Jubilee colonists' story — they embraced the Proteavirus through it rather than treating it as a threat.
- →Heat Tolerance Adaptation is permanent once gained — it removes the danger of high-temperature water in volcanic zones.
- →Without Heat Tolerance, the hot volcanic biome east of the Lifepod will deal damage — blocking access to bulk Sulfur.
- →Two small Sulfur pieces near Chap's Blackbox (~220m SE) are accessible before Heat Tolerance — enough for one Repair Tool.
Tips
- →Cure the Angel Comb as soon as you have the Sonic Resonator — Heat Tolerance unlocks bulk Sulfur farming immediately.
- →Sulfur is required for the Repair Tool, Advanced Wiring Kit, and other key mid-game recipes.
- →While at the Angel Comb area, check nearby rocks for Conduit Crystals (small quantity) and other resources.
- →The Sonic Resonator is also needed to mine large ore nodes — this trip pays off on multiple levels.
