Subnautica 2 Epicurean
Fish · Multiple Biomes · Subnautica 2 current build
Overview
A mid-sized ambush predator that buries itself in loose sediment or tucks behind reef structures, waiting for smaller fish to swim into range. The Epicurean strikes with a rapid upward lunge and retreats immediately to cover. It will opportunistically strike at Pioneers who hover near its concealment point — not territorial behaviour, but simple predatory reflex.
Subnautica 2 Epicurean — Behavior
Sediment-burying ambush predator. Very difficult to spot when concealed — only eye stalks are detectable above sediment. Strikes Pioneers who hover within 2m of its position, then immediately retreats. Does not pursue once the Pioneer moves away.
◉ Subnautica 2 Scan Data
Fish — sediment burial ambush strategy confirmed. Body colouration: high-fidelity sediment match. Concealment detectable by eye-stalk protrusion above sediment surface on close inspection. Pioneer attacks confirmed as opportunistic; does not pursue beyond 10m. Post-adaptation: edible; moderate nutritional value.
⚡ Subnautica 2 Epicurean — Survival Tips
- →Swim above the seafloor rather than gliding along it in unfamiliar biomes — Epicureans conceal at sediment level and strike upward.
- →If you see protruding eye stalks in sediment, you have identified the Epicurean before it can ambush — swim around at 3m clearance.
- →Edible post-adaptation; moderate nutrition return and relatively easy to harvest once located.
